Evolution of Emo Bands
0Emo is a broad movement that covers totally different styles of emotionally hardcore punk and rock classiffied under emo bands. Unfortunately most people have very little idea or misconceptions about emo owing to the limited distribution of emo music and low-profile of emo people.
However the emo bands with their emo music is very influential as it can be observed till date. A lot of us listen to fusion of pop and emo without even knowing the roots of emo bands.
The emo bands can be categorized as follows upon there different phases:
1) Phase one- The ‘emocore’ started in mid 80’s and has been going strong since then. In the beginning emo bands mostly consisted of punk bands which gave emo music a definition of heavy drumbeats accompanied by distorted guitar work. The bands in this phase produced high-tempo music and at times the lyrics and vocals were not clear but provided a powerful foot-thumping bass effect. (more…)
